What Is A Business Life Coach?
What do a good mattress and a stable relationship have to do with business? In the eyes of a business life coach, everything.
When you hire a business coach you also hirer a life coach because work and home lives are interdependent.
No one knows exactly when it happened, but at some point business owners split the work life home life into dichotomies, adopting the attitude of leaving your problems at home and not associating the two.
This makes sense. Leaving your problems at the door is better for business. However, personal matters have a way of creeping up into other parts of our life and work is often the first place it makes its appearance. Coaches though, realize and understand that in order to do your best work you have to have harmony in life and began to fuse the work home dichotomies making them one.
A business coach might be brought in to put together an advertising campaign, and end up realizing you need to make up with a friend or eat properly.
A business coach becomes more than someone to help your businesses, but someone who addresses concerns to help you and your team run your business. Making them more than just a business coach or even life coach but a business life coach where the two worlds are merged into one. Because as many of us know these worlds are not separate, they never were.
How many times have you sat in meeting unable to concentrate because of fight you had with your wife. Do you get your best work done when you're worried about your child's school grades? Or if you are moving and feeling stressed and overwhelmed about the whole process. All of these can affect the work we do.
Therefore, business coaches will usually ask questions pertaining to a person's personal life to see if their company problems are really a cause and effect of a much larger personal problem.
These questions may include, if you are getting enough sleep. What is your home office is like? Are you eating well? When was the last time you took a vacation? They may seem like simple questions but to a business life coach the answers can reveal a great deal about the operations of your business.
Because we often try our best to keep our work and home life separate we may avoid addressing certain issues which can lead to reoccurring behavioral patterns that can damage our personal and business lives. In which case, it is good that a third party can objectively and kindly point them out and help find roads to solutions.
